Film & Video Locations

Steps away, yet a world apart from the bustle of the City, Governors Island is in the heart of New York Harbor and has outstanding views of Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Statue of Liberty. Only a seven minute ferry ride away and with 13 acres of playing fields and additional outdoor spaces, Governors Island could be a great venue for your next event or corporate picnic.

Outdoor events

Governors Island has several outstanding outdoor locations that are ideal for corporate picnics, field days, or other events. These spaces include more than a dozen acres of baseball fields, volleyball and basketball courts on the Island’s southern end, as well as various green lawns and open spaces in the Historic District. The park-like surroundings are perfect for groups to get together. For additional information and pricing, please call 212-440-2200. To download a special events permit, click here.
