There is no surcharge for bicycles at any time. Space for bikes and strollers is limited, and they will be allowed on each ferry on a first-come, first-served basis.
All ferries are wheelchair accessible.

In Advance

Ferry tickets may be purchased in advance through the New York Waterways website and mobile app. Please note that your advance purchase does not guarantee you passage on the ferry.

New York Waterways Mobile App

Tickets are available through the New York Waterways mobile app. After downloading the app to your device, select the "buy tickets" tab. Select Hudson River Ferries and enter BMB (Battery Maritime Building) or Pier 6 as your starting point and Governors Island as your destination.

New York Waterways Website

Advanced tickets can be purchased online on the New York Waterways website. When buying tickets through the website, you must first create an account by creating a username and password. Then select Hudson River Ferries, entering either BMB (Battery Maritime Building) or Pier 6 as your starting point and Governors Island as your destination.

In Person

Tickets can be most easily purchased during ferry hours at the ticket booths at Battery Maritime Building in Manhattan and Pier 6 in Brooklyn. Tickets do not generally sell out in advance, but there are often lines to board, so you should plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your planned departure.

NYC Ferry

Governors Island is accessible via NYC Ferry on weekends. All NYC Ferrys will by routed to and from Pier 102 on Governors Island. Service via the newly launched East River Route will begin on Saturday, May 6. Service via the South Brooklyn Route will begin on Saturday, June 3. Fare for the NYC Ferry is $2.75 per ride.
