On the evening of June 8,​the Low­er Man­hat­tan Cul­tur­al Coun­cil, the New York Cli­mate Exchange, and the Cli­mate Muse­um will present a free con­cert in hon­or of World Oceans Day at the Arts Cen­ter at Gov­er­nors Island.

The con­cert will weave togeth­er music, dance, and advo­ca­cy — fea­tur­ing musi­cians from the Met­ro­pol­i­tan Opera and AMOC* (Amer­i­can Mod­ern Opera Com­pa­ny) and includ­ing works by com­pos­er-in-res­i­dence at the New York Phil­har­mon­ic and Pulitzer Prize final­ist Leile­hua Lanzilotti. 

The event will exam­ine our rela­tion­ship with the nat­ur­al world, cel­e­brate our inter­con­nect­ed­ness with the sea, and offer atten­dees ways to take civic and col­lec­tive action toward pro­tect­ing our oceans.

This event is free and open to the pub­lic. RSVP is required.
