Governors Island National Monument - Fort Jay
Fortify your mind! Tour one of the best examples of classic star-shaped fort design anywhere in the country, including the dry moat, subterranean magazine, ravelin and bastions (with 5 Rodman guns and a great view of the city), barracks porches, various exhibits and the oldest structure on the Island. Fort Jay is open to the public on weekends during the 2021 season, and is under the stewardship of the National Park Service.
