Calling All Volunteers!

[/caption] Governors Island is looking for some additional volunteers for the 2010 public access season. We need volunteers who are interested in coming out to Governors Island on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays from June 5 through October 10. Volunteers are an incredibly important part of our team on Governors Island. They help direct visitors, answer questions and greet them both at the Battery Maritime Building in Manhattan and once they arrive on Governors Island. In the past, our volunteers have done an incredible job meeting our visitors and asking them their zip code. We use this data to help us understand where our visitors are from and what kinds of programs we can pursue that our visitors might enjoy. So we are again hoping that a new crop of volunteers will join us for everything that is planned on Governors Island this season. There is more happening here than ever before. We will again need volunteers to greet visitors and answer questions; and we are also looking for volunteers who might be interested in photographing landscapes, buildings and events on Governors Island.
