Gov­er­nors Island Has Biggest Open­ing Week­end Ever

Sat­ur­day was our biggest open­ing day yet, with 8,000 vis­i­tors com­ing out. And once every­one got here, there was so much to do, includ­ing the Gov­er­nors Island Alliance’s Fam­i­ly Festival,watching Prince Har­ry play polo in the Veuve Clic­quot Man­hat­tan Polo Clas­sic, and of course car free bik­ing, pic­nick­ing and art exhi­bi­tions. On Sun­day, anoth­er 2,000 vis­i­tors came to the Island, many of whom watched Zvi Dance’s free dance per­for­mance White in Fort Jay. If you missed open­ing week­end, there are still many more to come in the 2009 sea­son. We hope to see you out on the Island!
