Gov­er­nors Island Seeks Pro­pos­als for Long-Term Ath­let­ic Use of Fields in 2019 and Beyond

The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island invites non-prof­it orga­ni­za­tions, schools, orga­nized sports leagues and any oth­er inter­est­ed par­ties to respond to this Request for Pro­pos­als to uti­lize two pos­si­ble loca­tions on Gov­er­nors Island for ath­let­ic uses. 

Schools, orga­nized youth leagues, adult leagues and non-prof­it orga­ni­za­tions are invit­ed to pro­pose use of our ath­let­ic fields for prac­tices, scrim­mages, games, tour­na­ments and oth­er recre­ation­al activ­i­ties. Gov­er­nors Island’s turf fields are able to accom­mo­date a wide range of sports, from base­ball and soft­ball to soc­cer, foot­ball, rug­by, lacrosse and more. The Trust antic­i­pates mul­ti­ple orga­ni­za­tions using the fields through­out Gov­er­nors Island’s annu­al pub­lic sea­son, from May 1‑October 31 and beyond. Pub­lic schools and non-prof­it orga­ni­za­tions are par­tic­u­lar­ly encour­aged to sub­mit proposals.
