Governors Island’s incredible visitors
Oct 6, 2009 7:22 pm
A record number of visitors have come to Governors Island this summer to ride bikes, picnic, play Figment’s artist designed miniature golf course, see art exhibitions, listen to concerts, and just relax and enjoy the view. As we look back on the past few months of being open to the public, we realized that Governors Island visitors are really a wonderful group of people. We have been thrilled to welcome artists, children and families, thousands of bike riders, wonderful performers, rock stars, New Yorkers, visitors from countries across the globe, and even royalty. Below are some snapshots of the visitors we have had to Governors Island so far this year (as you can see, some even like to dress up when they visit!) You have one more weekend to come see for yourselves how amazing our visitors are. So dress up or don’t, but get on the ferry this Friday, Saturday or Sunday before the Island closes for the season!
