Hap­py Hol­i­days from Gov­er­nors Island!

We on Gov­er­nors Island want­ed to wish every­one Hap­py Hol­i­days and send our best wish­es for a won­der­ful New Year. The pic­ture that you see below is of a post­card that we found that was print­ed dur­ing World War I. The post­card fea­tures images of Gov­er­nors Island, includ­ing Cas­tle Williams, and sends the recip­i­ent ​“Christ­mas Greet­ings from New York City.” The selec­tion of Cas­tle Williams was like­ly a nod to the role that the Island played dur­ing the war. We hope that every­one has a joy­ous hol­i­day sea­son and we look for­ward to wel­com­ing the pub­lic back to the Island in June of 2010.
