Oth­er events this week­end include: 4 Heads Art Fair, Week­ends in Sep­tem­ber, All Day, Build­ing 111, Colonels Row and Nolan Park  Indulge your curios­i­ty by explor­ing the aban­doned mil­i­tary bar­racks of Gov­er­nors Island Art Fair, 100 sin­gu­lar rooms of paint­ing, pho­tog­ra­phy, sculp­ture, instal­la­tion, video, sound and per­for­mance art. Run by artists, for artists, New York’s largest inde­pen­dent exhi­bi­tion enters its 6th year this fall. Once again GIAF orga­niz­ers, 4heads, have sift­ed through a sea of cre­ative pro­pos­als from New York and around the world, giv­ing 100 of the best a full room each, in which to wreak hav­oc as they see fit. 4heads’ pro­grams are tai­lored to serve the under-resourced, attract­ing hid­den cul­ture and fos­ter­ing com­mu­ni­ty through col­lab­o­ra­tive expres­sion. ArtShare for HeartShare, Week­ends in Sep­tem­ber, 11:30 am to 5:30 pm, Build­ing 15 This exhi­bi­tion show­cas­es the tal­ents and cre­ative abil­i­ties of artists with intel­lec­tu­al and devel­op­men­tal dis­abil­i­ties. The ArtShare for HeartShare pro­gram is avail­able to artists in HeartShare Human Ser­vices of New York’s devel­op­men­tal dis­abil­i­ties pro­gram. Par­tic­i­pants in the pro­gram are sup­port­ed in their cre­ative endeav­ors by vol­un­teer artists in res­i­dence and a ded­i­cat­ed com­mit­tee through­out the year. This is the sec­ond year that ArtShare for HeartShare will be exhibit­ing on Gov­er­nors Island. Fête Par­adiso, 10:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Nolan Park For the first time in the US, a spec­tac­u­lar col­lec­tion of vin­tage French car­ni­val rides is open to the pub­lic here on Gov­er­nors Island! The Parisian expe­ri­ence is free to vis­i­tors both young and old at this mag­nifique fair­ground fes­ti­val com­plete with French music and cui­sine! Remem­ber, the East Riv­er Fer­ry is a great way to get from Queens, Brook­lyn and Mid­town to Gov­er­nors Island. Check the full sched­ule to plan your next trip! See the Park in Progress at the View­ing Plat­form @ Liggett Arch! Sat­ur­day and Sun­day, All Day Head to Liggett Arch to see the new park that is under con­struc­tion. Con­struc­tion on the 30 acre park includ­ing Liggett Ter­race, Ham­mock Grove and the Play Lawn will be com­plete this fall. Get a great view of all that is happening!
