LVMH Moet Hen­nessey and Par­sons Show­case New Tal­ent on Gov­er­nors Island

[cap­tion id=“attachment_3228” align=“aligncenter” width=“256” caption=“The Art of Craft­man­ship Revis­it­ed will be exhib­it­ed in Nolan Park every Sat­ur­day and Sun­day from June 5 — June 27.”][/​caption] LVMH Moët Hen­nessy Louis Vuit­ton Inc., and Par­sons The New School for Design present The Art of Crafts­man­ship Revis­it­ed: New York,” an exhi­bi­tion in Gov­er­nors Island’s Nolan Park. The exhi­bi­tion is the result of a col­lab­o­ra­tion and con­test that was announced last year. The pro­gram brought more than 120 Par­sons stu­dents and 23 local arti­sans togeth­er for the con­test, in which stu­dent teams cre­at­ed orig­i­nal fash­ion ensem­bles and short doc­u­men­tary films inspired by the work of a local arti­san and the world of LVMH. The stu­dents’ fash­ion cre­ations and films were pre­viewed in Feb­ru­ary 2010, dur­ing New York City’s Fash­ion Week.   The win­ners of the con­test are: Adam Sch­er, Alex Stachelek, Hyey­oung Kim, Jen­nifer Schu­bert and Akalak­sna Ken­neth Baen­chan­tha who won first place for their work inspired by Cal­lig­ra­ph­er Bernard Mais­ner; Andres, Chi, Pay­al, Sher­man and Soo­ji who won sec­ond place for their work inspired by Let­ter­press Print­er Sway­space; and Iker Oroz­co, JYong Moon, Min­sun Kim, Nicole Fer­ra­da, Uros Ota­se­vic and Yeochung Lydia Kim who won third place for their work inspired by Fine Wood Con­ser­va­tion Ltd. Come to the Island to see their cre­ations when the Island opens on June 5. The exhib­it is just one of the many incred­i­ble pro­grams and activ­i­ties that are planned for Gov­er­nors Island this pub­lic access sea­son.
