Name that New Pub­lic Open Space

We’re stumped. We are furi­ous­ly get­ting ready to open up eight new acres of grassy, gor­geous har­bor­front to our vis­i­tors next sum­mer, and the spot needs a new name. Much of the new open space is on the spot where Lib­er­ty Vil­lage stood, and all of it is with­in the site of the 40-acre park we’re busy mas­ter plan­ning right now. We’re not going to be mod­est about this: the new open space will be one of the best pic­nic spots in the world. The Stat­ue of Lib­er­ty is so close you could shake her hand. The sense of open­ness and expan­sive­ness that comes from being on the prow of the Island in the mid­dle of the har­bor is trans­for­ma­tive. Yet none of us seems to be able to come up with a name that does­n’t sound vague­ly like a 10-year-old con­do devel­op­ment: Point Lib­er­ty, Har­borview Acres. You get the pic­ture.
