One More Weekend!

This week­end will be the last chance to play Fig­men­t’s artist designed minia­ture golf course this year!
There are just three days left to come to Gov­er­nors Island for Free Bike Fri­days, art exhibits, pro­grams, mini golf, out­door sculp­ture and the great views from Pic­nic Point.
Don’t miss Storm King’s Mark di Suvero at Gov­er­nors Island, which fea­tures 11 of the artists icon­ic pieces set against the back­drop of the City sky­line, the Stat­ue of Lib­er­ty and the Har­bor. Fri­day, Sep­tem­ber 23-Sun­day, Sep­tem­ber 25: Guggen­heim Muse­um presents stillspot­ting nyc The Guggen­heim Muse­um takes its pro­gram­ming out to the streets of NYC with To a Great City, by com­pos­er Arvo Pärt and the archi­tects at Snøhet­ta. The exhi­bi­tion fea­tures sound instal­la­tions in five unex­pect­ed spaces around Low­er Man­hat­tan, from under­ground cham­bers to land­mark sky­scrap­ers. Sat­ur­day, Sep­tem­ber 24: Vendy Awards, 12PM to 5PM Join hun­dreds of street food enthu­si­asts and a team of celebri­ty judges at the Sev­enth Annu­al Vendy Awards, the annu­al com­pe­ti­tion for the title of New York City’s Best Street Food Ven­dor, and a fundrais­er for Urban Jus­tice Cen­ter’s Street Ven­dor Project. Tick­ets get you all-you-can eat access to the city’s finest ven­dors as they bat­tle to take home the Vendy Cup. On this week­end, the visu­al artists-in-res­i­dence open their stu­dios for pub­lic view­ing. Sun­day, Sep­tem­ber 25: African Film Fes­ti­val’s Fam­i­ly Day Cel­e­bra­tion, 12PM to 5PM The cul­ture and vital­i­ty of the African con­ti­nent will be on dis­play as African Film Fes­ti­val’s Fam­i­ly Day Cel­e­bra­tion” returns with enter­tain­ment and cul­tur­al activ­i­ties for vis­i­tors of all ages. The fam­i­ly-friend­ly event offers free short films show­cas­ing tal­ent of the African Dias­po­ra with fun activ­i­ties like African dance class­es and Dou­ble Dutch, sto­ry­telling and afford­able African cui­sine.
