One of the Hottest Tickets in Town

Today’s issue of the New York Times featured a front-page story about the 12 hour production of The Demons, which will be performed on Governors Island this July. The performance is a part of the Lincoln Center Festival and is the first of its kind to take place on the Island. Patrick Healy of the Times notes: “Every theater season has its must-must-must-see show…New York will have a doozy of a contender this July: a 12-hour production of a grim Dostoyevsky novel that will be performed only twice… in a warehouse on Governors Island.” [caption id=“attachment_2886” align=“aligncenter” width=“300” caption=“A scene from The Demons which will be performed on Governors Island this July”]
[/caption] The venue for the performance is a disused, 1970’s era metal frame warehouse, located on Governors Island’s southern end, about a 20 minute walk from the ferry. Audience members will take the free, seven minute ferry ride to the Island and then walk to the performance venue (those who are unable to walk that distance will have golf carts available for them).
