One Wheeled Excitement Headed to the Island This September

[/caption] Many Governors Island visitors bring their own bikes to the Island or rent one once they get here, but few, if any, have ever ridden a unicycle on the Island. All of that is about to change when the NYC Unicycle Festival rides over to the Island on September 4. From noon to 5 PM on September 4, visitors will experience a fun-filled day of riding and watching unicycles throughout the Island. The world-famous NYC-based King Charles Troupe will present demonstrations and organize unicycle basketball games. The day includes races, competitions, and exhibitions as well. For the fans of extreme riding, a unicycle trials course will challenge riders throughout the day. The public will have the opportunity to try to one wheel as well. The New York City Unicycle Festival seeks to bring together recreational riders, world-class performers, mountain and off-road unicycle enthusiasts, mono-wheel vehicle inventors, and the thousands of people who have not ridden in years along with circus enthusiasts, extreme sports viewers, and anyone seeking an unusual sight – even for NYC. So get ready to experience some one-wheeled fun on Governors Island this September!
