[/caption] Governors Island had a record breaking day on Sunday, when nearly 18,000 visitors came to the Island. Many of our visitors came dressed in their best seersucker and fabulous hats to watch the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. These visitors made Sunday the biggest public access day ever for the Island, and the number of visitors over the course of the day even surpassed the number of those going to the Statue of Liberty!
- Visitors enjoyed food and drink at the match, as well as some pre-polo entertainment. Here, visitors play petanque.
And if you missed coming out to the Island this past weekend, there are still
16 more weekends in the season to experience all there is to do on the Island. Next weekend…
FIGMENT!
