Our neighbors at the National Park Service invite you to review a new historical exhibit at Castle Williams. The review includes a sneak peek at Castle Williams, which was closed last season for major clean up and restoration. Three 2‑hour public input sessions will be held this Saturday, November 13. The free ferry to the sessions leaves at 11 AM, 1PM or 3 PM from the Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan. Participation is free! To obtain a free ticket to get a sneak peek of Castle Williams exhibits and its possible exhibits, click here. Pick a time either at 11 AM, 1 PM or 3 PM. You can also get tickets by emailing gois_information@nps.gov, or calling 212.825.3051. Leave a name, email address and contact phone number and your preference of time to visit. Participants meet at the Battery Maritime Building’s Governors Island ferry waiting room at 10 South Street (at the corner of Whitehall and South Streets) in Lower Manhattan. The ferry departs promptly at the time on your ticket, either at 11 AM, 1 PM or 3 PM, so please arrive 15 – 20 minutes early. Once on the Island, NPS will give groups of 10 – 15 people an escorted, ranger guided tour of the national monument. The tour is outside, so dress for the weather. And inside, you will be the first to see and comment on their exhibit ideas for Castle Williams, scheduled to open to the public next summer. At the conclusion of the tour and conversation, the group will return together to Manhattan. If you know of others that might wish to participate, please share this with them. The National Park Service hopes to see you on Saturday!
