I checked out Summer Streets last Saturday. It’s New York City’s big car-free streets event happening for three Saturdays in August. Since one of the best things about Governors Island is the fact that we’re a car-free island, how can these two things work together? Clarence Eckerson, Streetfilms/Livable Streets auteur and friend of Governors Island, told me about an amazing and ambitious ride he wants to do. I’m calling it Clarence’s Mondo Carfree Saturday. Check it out the map of the route below, and let me know how it goes if you ride it: [googlemaps http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=100317707952912641269.0004545730ccde61cac61&ll=40.729798,-73.994422&spn=0.085562,0.061284&output=embed&s=AARTsJoLJUMHk3J4NusG6acc1-5HBk1ZhA&w=425&h=350]
