This weekend, the Sundance Institute invites visitors to take that inspiration and get creative. The Sundance Institute will return to Governors Island this Saturday with free playwriting labs that are open to the public. Labs will be offered four times on Saturday, at 10AM, Noon, 2PM and 4PM. At the workshops, visitors can hear how playwrights find their inspiration and begin writing. Visitors will then be able to do some writing themselves. The labs will be run by four alumni of Sundance’s Theatre Program. They are Janine Nabors, Darci Picoult, Winter Miller and Cori Thomas. This will be the Sundance Institute’s second time on Governors Island this public access season. For ten days this past June, actors, directors and producers from the Institute worked on the Island on never before produced scripts. The workshops are free to the public and are limited to 20 visitors per session. For more information, call Call 646−822−9564.
