Weekend Update: Governors Island Swim, Vintage Baseball, Sculptors Guild Workshop and so much more!

We also have plenty of art exhibits and workshops for you to enjoy! Check out our special events for this weekend below! Saturday, July 28: Governors Island Swim, 11:30 AM, Finish line: Pier 101 Cheer on swimmers — or sign up ahead of time at www.nycswim.org to join them — as they jump off a ferry boat and swim a challenging two-mile race around Governors Island. The course allows great views of Lower Manhattan, Jersey City, Staten Island, Brooklyn, and, of course, Governors Island itself, from the unique, water-level perspective. Saturday, July 28: Vintage Baseball, Gotham BBC of New York vs Mutual BBC of New York, 12 – 4 PM, Parade Ground Watch baseball as it was played almost 150 years ago! The Gothams are playing their 11th season of Vintage Base Ball in New York City, with their home games currently being played on Governors Island. Games are played on the Parade Ground and are free to watch. Cheering is highly encouraged. Saturday, July 28: Sculptors Guild, Life Casting workshop with Marc Fields, on Cartigan Road Cast your finger, hand or face with Marc Fields – Owner of The Compleat Sculptor . Participants will leave with the beginning knowledge of mold making, casting products, techniques — and with a beautiful casting of their making.
