Wel­come to the Neigh­bor­hood, Pier 1

Across the East Riv­er this morn­ing, the Gov­er­nor, May­or and local elect­ed offi­cials gath­ered in the rain for a rib­bon cut­ting for Pier 1 of Brook­lyn Bridge Park. We’ve been watch­ing the con­struc­tion from afar all year, and the rolling green hills of Pier 1 are now vis­i­ble from Gov­er­nors Island. We look for­ward to this sum­mer when vis­i­tors can vis­it Pier 1 and the next-to-be-open-with-an-awe­some-hot-play­ground Pier 6, and hop on a fer­ry for more adven­ture on Gov­er­nors Island. And you can be sure that the first dry day you’ll find one of us sit­ting after work on the steps of the park’s ​“Gran­ite Prospect. ”
