Who we are:

The Friends of Gov­er­nors Island is an inde­pen­dent non-prof­it work­ing to cham­pi­on the Island’s con­tin­ued growth, vital­i­ty, and acces­si­bil­i­ty as a trea­sured pub­lic resource. We stew­ard the Island’s green spaces, pro­duce year-round free pub­lic pro­gram­ming, and man­age vis­i­tor ser­vices and vol­un­teer­ing, all of which help build a com­mu­ni­ty ded­i­cat­ed to the Island’s future. We are so excit­ed to be an offi­cial char­i­ty part­ner for the TCS NYC Marathon in 2024, and can’t wait to sup­port our run­ners as they com­plete the icon­ic trek through the five boroughs.

What you com­mit to:

• Rais­ing at least $3,000 for The Friends of Gov­er­nors Island by race day, Novem­ber 3^rd 2024
• If select­ed, reg­is­ter­ing for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon (note you are respon­si­ble for pay­ing your own reg­is­tra­tion fee)
• Spread­ing the word about your train­ing jour­ney, fundrais­ing goal, and The Friends’ mis­sion with your net­work of friends and family
