Arts & Culture in Nolan Park Tour

Home to mil­i­tary offi­cers and their fam­i­lies for near­ly two cen­turies when Gov­er­nors Island was a U.S. Army and Coast Guard Base, Nolan Park today is a flour­ish­ing cul­tur­al dis­trict, home to sea­son­al cul­tur­al orga­ni­za­tions host­ing artists-in-res­i­dence, out­door sculp­tures, and free pub­lic pro­grams span­ning visu­al arts, per­for­mance, and edu­ca­tion. Juan Pablo Siles, Asso­ciate Cura­tor of the Trust for Gov­er­nors Island, leads this spe­cial tour which includes vis­its to many of the New York-based cul­tur­al orga­ni­za­tions who are pre­sent­ing pro­grams this sea­son. Get an insid­er look at the Trust’s plans to trans­form this sea­son­al pro­gram into a per­ma­nent, year-round cul­tur­al cam­pus for artists and audiences.
