BAN­JEE BOOM­BOX, an unapolo­getic QUEER BIPOC musi­cal jour­ney pre­sent­ed by DJ LiK­WUiD and DJ Mary Mac in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Art­Cawl Harlem will take place Sat­ur­day, August 5, 2023, 1PM-8PM at 406B Colonels Row on Gov­er­nors Island. Head­lin­ing the event is the sen­sa­tion­al Queens native girl pow­er lyri­cist, Dai Burg­er with per­for­mances by GLAAD Award nom­i­nee Bry’Nt, OUT­MU­SIC award win­ner Baron Artist, Flint, Michigan’s dynam­ic duo BFF, Ken­ny­Boi, vsteeze and more. Ban­jee Boom­box is more than a music fes­ti­val; it is an encom­pass­ing expe­ri­ence that brings togeth­er live per­for­mances, tal­ent­ed DJs, vibrant ven­dors, and a show­case of remark­able art exhibits and instal­la­tions by women and QTBIPOC visu­al artists. Show­cas­ing exhi­bi­tions include the work of DaQuane Cher­ry, Court­ney Minor, Martryce Roach, The­da San­di­ford, and Williams Daniels all curat­ed by Art­Crawl Harlem Exec­u­tive Direc­tor Ulysses Williams.

This cel­e­bra­tion of music and art is designed to be fam­i­ly-friend­ly, and all are wel­come to join and embrace the spir­it of accep­tance and inclu­siv­i­ty. Ban­jee Boom­box encour­ages atten­dees to come as you are” and cel­e­brate the con­tri­bu­tions that LGBTQAI+ artists have made to hip hop cul­ture since its inception.

Ban­jee Boom­box pays homage to leg­endary artists such as Myk­ki Blan­co, Angel Haze, Cakes da Kil­la, Siya, Nicky Da B, Quay Dash and count­less oth­ers with spe­cial guest sets by DJ Taela Nao­mi, SAINTCHONG joined by hosts Bae Sade´´´´ and Mar­ck Angel. By cel­e­brat­ing, ampli­fy­ing and gath­er­ing togeth­er for the voic­es of wom­xn, femme and queer iden­ti­fied artists, the fes­ti­val aims to cre­ate a safe space for us, by us.”
