Breath Break” is a multimedia installation and performance by Julia Hsiao-Chu Hsia exploring the relationship between nature and human society. Covered in layers of newspaper that obscure vision, the installation reflects how information, economics, and rapid development create distance from ecological awareness. Wood sticks emerging from the surface suggest a struggle to breathe and reconnect. Through movement and breathing gestures, the performance invites audiences to pause, slow down, take deep breaths, and reconsider humanity’s connection to the environment and the planet.
