Learn all about what it takes to effec­tive­ly man­age the unique urban for­est on Gov­er­nors Island at For­est for All NYC’s third annu­al City of For­est Day, fea­tur­ing a vol­un­teer project and a tree tour! Reg­is­tra­tion is live at the link below. Please note: this event will be held entire­ly out­doors on Gov­er­nors Island, and is rain or shine. Please dress with the weath­er in mind.

Tree & Bird Tour — 2PM

Join the Trust for Gov­er­nors Island’s arborist and the New York City Bird Alliance for a tour of the Island’s 3,000+ trees. Peep the daz­zling fall foliage and learn about the rela­tion­ships between native and migra­to­ry birds and the trees they depend on for for­age and habi­tat. Reg­is­tra­tion is high­ly encour­aged to attend. Please dress with the weath­er in mind.

City of For­est Day is pre­sent­ed by For­est for All NYC in part­ner­ship with the Parks and Open Space Part­ners: NYC Coali­tion, and NYC Depart­ment of Parks and Recre­ation. City of For­est Day is a day of activ­i­ties across the city to raise aware­ness of the impor­tance of the New York City urban for­est and the For­est for All NYC coali­tion, of which Gov­er­nors Island is a member.
