The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island, in part­ner­ship with Man­hat­tan Bor­ough Pres­i­dent Mark Levine, Sen­a­tor Bri­an Kavanagh, New York City Coun­cil Mem­ber Christo­pher Marte, Man­hat­tan Com­mu­ni­ty Board 1, and Con­gress­man Jer­ry Nadler, invites you to join an upcom­ing com­mu­ni­ty brief­ing on respons­es sub­mit­ted to the city’s Request for Pro­pos­als seek­ing an Edu­ca­tion­al and Research Insti­tu­tion to anchor the Cen­ter for Cli­mate Solu­tions on Gov­er­nors Island.

The Cen­ter for Cli­mate Solu­tions is an ini­tia­tive led by the New York City May­or’s Office and the Trust for Gov­er­nors Island designed to fur­ther New York City as a glob­al leader in efforts to respond to the cli­mate cri­sis. On Gov­er­nors Island, the project is envi­sioned to sup­port the research, devel­op­ment, and demon­stra­tion of equi­table cli­mate solu­tions for New York City that can be applied and scaled glob­al­ly.

In April 2022, the Trust for Gov­er­nors Island released a Request for Pro­pos­als, invit­ing final­ist aca­d­e­m­ic and research insti­tu­tions to share their vision for anchor­ing the Cen­ter for Cli­mate Solu­tions, with respons­es due in August 2022. Please join us at one of two upcom­ing ses­sions to learn more about pro­pos­als sub­mit­ted as part of this RFP process.
