Elisabeth Condon: Liquid Paper
Swale
During her residency, Condon will make work with calligraphy ink and mulberry paper that reflects the intersection of the “paved and primordial.” The artist has historically worked with petroleum-based polymer, as well as upcycled detritus, and more recently is experimenting with bioplastics. Existing and new works made while in residence will be exhibited in the dining room at Swale House, with Condon’s 2024 work Serpentine Parlor acting as a springboard for new bioplastic pours and liquid paper drawings.
Swale is one of the 2026 Governors Island Arts Organizations in Residence.
