Elisabeth Condon: Liquid Paper

Dur­ing her res­i­den­cy, Con­don will make work with cal­lig­ra­phy ink and mul­ber­ry paper that reflects the inter­sec­tion of the ​“paved and pri­mor­dial.” The artist has his­tor­i­cal­ly worked with petro­le­um-based poly­mer, as well as upcy­cled detri­tus, and more recent­ly is exper­i­ment­ing with bio­plas­tics. Exist­ing and new works made while in res­i­dence will be exhib­it­ed in the din­ing room at Swale House, with Con­don’s 2024 work Ser­pen­tine Par­lor act­ing as a spring­board for new bio­plas­tic pours and liq­uid paper drawings.

Swale is one of the 2026 Gov­er­nors Island Arts Orga­ni­za­tions in Res­i­dence.
