Exquisite Landscape Mural Workshop

Free Work­shop

The Exquis­ite Land­scape mur­al work­shop, led by Mau­reen Cat­ba­gan (2023 NYCBAR/RU alum), is based on the Sur­re­al­ist game the Exquis­ite Corpse which uti­lizes col­lab­o­ra­tive draw­ing assem­blage to cre­ate impro­vised fan­tas­ti­cal compositions.

Par­tic­i­pants are divid­ed into groups to fill in sec­tions of the mur­al based on con­tin­ued lines from the pre­vi­ous group.

They are also giv­en small­er sheets to prac­tice with each oth­er and take home.

No pri­or expe­ri­ence is nec­es­sary and all mate­ri­als are provided.

Res­i­den­cy Unlim­it­ed is one of the 2026 Gov­er­nors Island Arts Orga­ni­za­tions in Res­i­dence.
