Fall Open [Block] House Series

Vis­it the Insti­tute for Pub­lic Archi­tec­ture (IPA) for the Fall Open [Block] House series! Meet the cohort of six Fel­lows who spend eleven weeks liv­ing and work­ing on Gov­er­nors Island. Their projects will explore the 2025 cura­to­r­i­al theme of ​‘Liv­ing Lab­o­ra­to­ry’ through exper­i­men­ta­tion across for­mat and method­ol­o­gy. From hack­ing sonar imag­ing tech­nolo­gies to devel­op­ing nov­el weav­ing tech­niques with plants — this year’s Fall Res­i­den­cy cohort push­es the lim­its of what it means to pro­duce rad­i­cal cre­ative work in pub­lic space.

The IPA is one of the Gov­er­nors Island’s year-round ten­ants.
