Brazilian art is cannibalistic. In Gringo à Brasileira, Patrícia Colmenero revisits colonial images of Brazil to devour, transform, and return them through an anthropophagic gesture. Borrowing the language of recipes, the exhibition prepares the foreign gaze Brazilian style”: digested, mixed, contaminated, and reinvented. Figures once seen as exotic, monstrous, or available for visual consumption now look back, turning portraiture into confrontation and the colonial archive into living matter.

Solo show by Patrícia Colmenero
