Join Gov­er­nors Island Arts for a week­end-long cel­e­bra­tion of the sea­son­al Orga­ni­za­tions in Res­i­dence in Nolan Park and Colonels Row! August 16 – 19, 2024, Gov­er­nors Island Arts will bring togeth­er more than two dozen cul­tur­al part­ners for a week­end-long cre­ative cel­e­bra­tion in and around the his­toric for­mer mil­i­tary hous­es of Nolan Park and Colonels Row on the Island, fea­tur­ing free dance and music per­for­mances, out­door instal­la­tions, inter­ac­tive work­shops, open stu­dios, pan­el dis­cus­sions, and more. The third-annu­al cel­e­bra­tion will also fea­ture the incred­i­ble line­up of works already on dis­play from the two dozen Orga­ni­za­tions in Res­i­dence in the his­toric hous­es in Nolan Park and Colonels Row—click here to meet them all.   • Gov­er­nors Island Arts Pro­jec­tion Par­ty: Sal­ly Beau­ti Twin’s Amor­phaV­i­sion Parade Ground, 7:30PM — Curat­ed by Sal­ly Twin, this evening cel­e­bra­tion fea­tures live music from Laraa­ji, 502 Bad Gate­way, Rebec­ca Bird, Alice Cohen, Maya Edel­man, Jonathan Sims, Pre­ston Spur­lock, and Claire Weaver-Zeman; pro­jec­tion map­ping onto his­toric build­ings; and free food and drinks. ^

  • Gov­er­nors Island Arts Dance is Life social dance par­ty Liggett Ter­race, 5 – 9PM — Abdiel Jacob­sen and Natasha Dig­gs bring their social dance par­ty to Gov­er­nors Island dur­ing House Fest. Cre­at­ed as a pub­lic com­mu­ni­ty ser­vice to pro­vide the vital force that dance and music ignites with­in humans, this event unites peo­ple of all walks of life through com­mu­nal heal­ing and celebration. ^
