Ruth Childs and Cécile Bouffard started the project delicate people in 2021 as a collaboration between their respective disciplines: dance and sculpture. Delicate” describes both Bouffard’s illustrated figures and Childs’s creative process — the fine tuning necessary to an evolving choreographic story. Both artists cultivate intuition and indeterminacy, fostering the suspension of judgment through a series of delicately disturbing vignettes.

The success of Ruth Childs and Cecile Bouffard’s work speaks to their capacity to develop before and through our eyes a new imagination, full of abstract figures and gestures: the fragile beauty of a conversation between a body and sculptures.” — Clara Colson, Zone Critique
