New York City Department of Education Youth Climate Summit

School teams at the 2026 Youth Cli­mate Sum­mit will spend a day out­side on Gov­er­nors Island on either June 10 or 11. Co-planned by high school stu­dents, the Sum­mit will fea­ture cli­mate and sus­tain­abil­i­ty career dis­cov­ery, lead­er­ship and envi­ron­men­tal jus­tice, and sum­mer youth cli­mate-action planning.

Stu­dents in grades 6 – 12 from all NYC Pub­lic Schools (dis­trict and char­ter) are invit­ed to attend. This is an inclu­sive event; no pre­vi­ous lead­er­ship expe­ri­ence required! 

This event is orga­nized by stu­dents from the Office of Ener­gy & Sus­tain­abil­i­ty’s Youth Lead­er­ship Council.
