Celebrate Taiwanese American Art Council’s current exhibition Peoples’ Movements: Sunflower 10th Anniversary, on view through June 9, 2024, at a special event on Saturday, June 1. This exhibition reflect five global peoples movements with a focus on events taking place in 2014: Taiwan’s Sunflower Movement, Hong Kong’s Umbrella Movement, the Arab Spring, the Chilean Winter, and Ukraine’s Revolution of Dignity.
Event Schedule
- 1:10PM: Exhibit introduction & welcome remarks
- 1:20 – 2:50PM: The Power of Art for Peace and Social Impact workshop and presentation by Shih-Pao Lin and Wei-Hsuan Chen. Co-organized by the Shield Art Foundation. Followed by a Q+A and open discussion.
- 3 – 4PM: Once Upon a Time: Animals of Governors Island talk with Dr. Mona Lung
- 4 – 4:30PM: Refreshments and mingling
Taiwanese American Arts Council is one of the 2024 Governors Island Arts Organizations in Residence.
