Cel­e­brate Tai­wanese Amer­i­can Art Coun­cil’s cur­rent exhi­bi­tion Peo­ples’ Move­ments: Sun­flower 10th Anniver­sary, on view through June 9, 2024, at a spe­cial event on Sat­ur­day, June 1. This exhi­bi­tion reflect five glob­al peo­ples move­ments with a focus on events tak­ing place in 2014: Tai­wan’s Sun­flower Move­ment, Hong Kong’s Umbrel­la Move­ment, the Arab Spring, the Chilean Win­ter, and Ukraine’s Rev­o­lu­tion of Dignity.

Event Sched­ule

  • 1:10PM: Exhib­it intro­duc­tion & wel­come remarks 
  • 1:20 – 2:50PM: The Pow­er of Art for Peace and Social Impact work­shop and pre­sen­ta­tion by Shih-Pao Lin and Wei-Hsuan Chen. Co-orga­nized by the Shield Art Foun­da­tion. Fol­lowed by a Q+A and open discussion. 
  • 3 – 4PM: Once Upon a Time: Ani­mals of Gov­er­nors Island talk with Dr. Mona Lung
  • 4 – 4:30PM: Refresh­ments and mingling
