RU Exhibition: Living Room Portfolio III

Join Res­i­den­cy Unlim­it­ed for the third edi­tion of the ​“Liv­ing Room Port­fo­lio” com­bin­ing works by RU res­i­dent artists, cur­rent and alum­ni, with LuLu Meng, Tamar Nis­sim, Lin Qiqing, Asia Szten­cel, Nia Imani Winslow, and Ibti­sam Tas­nim Zaman. The exhi­bi­tion is curat­ed by Data Chigh­o­lashvili, Cura­tor of Res­i­den­cy Unlimited.

Liv­ing Room Port­fo­lio is an exper­i­men­tal exhi­bi­tion for­mat that explores artist res­i­den­cies and the open stu­dio con­cept. Held at the RU House on Gov­er­nors Island — home to artist stu­dios, exhi­bi­tions, and pub­lic events — it fos­ters encoun­ters with inter­na­tion­al artists and insights into glob­al art scenes. For­mer liv­ing rooms in this once-res­i­den­tial house now serve as exhi­bi­tion spaces, while stu­dios occu­py oth­er parts of the build­ing. In this for­mat, stu­dios blend into the exhi­bi­tions, show­cas­ing select­ed works by RU res­i­dent and alum­ni artists. On select days, par­tic­i­pat­ing artists will host vis­i­tors in the space. Along­side their exhib­it­ed works, vis­i­tors can view extend­ed port­fo­lios through­out the house, encour­ag­ing con­ver­sa­tion and deep­er engagement. 

Res­i­den­cy Unlim­it­ed is one of the 2025 Gov­er­nors Island Orga­ni­za­tions in Res­i­dence.
