The Collective Womb

Join Cli­mate Imag­i­nar­i­um and Earth Mat­ter for a night of myth­mak­ing, cel­e­bra­tion, and repro­duc­tive jus­tice on Gov­er­nor’s Island.

The Col­lec­tive Womb is a matri­ar­chal cre­ation sto­ry in which abor­tion is rec­og­nized as a nat­ur­al exchange of ener­gy between the body and the earth. Staged on a large mound of soil, the per­for­mance cel­e­brates the macro-scale cre­ative pow­er of our plan­et and the micro-scale cre­ative pow­er of each indi­vid­ual womb. This immer­sive pro­duc­tion will include pup­petry, dance, womb cook­ies, earth wor­ship, and live music. BYO blan­kets for sit­ting in the grass!
