Join the Trust for Gov­er­nors Island at NYC’s hottest World Cup watch par­ty on Sun­day, July 19, from 1 to 6PM! Immersed with­in the stun­ning back­drop of the Low­er Man­hat­tan sky­line on the Island’s his­toric Parade Ground, the event will fea­ture a large-scale pub­lic screen­ing of the final match in part­ner­ship with Rooftop Films, soc­cer clin­ics and open play oppor­tu­ni­ties, live DJs, fam­i­ly-cen­tered activ­i­ties, and inter­na­tion­al food ven­dors high­light­ing the diverse her­itage of New York City. 

The People’s Final is pre­sent­ed by the Trust for Gov­er­nors Island, with sup­port from the New York City Mayor’s Office.

Event Schedule

  • 1PM: Doors open
  • 1-6PM: Photo moment & giveaways; Threes Brewing, Little Eva's, and and Six Coasts by Smorgasburg bars open
  • 1-5PM: Food trucks open
  • 1-2:45PM: Face painting and bracelet making with I Am CaribBEING, Khalil DJ set powered by Karlala Soundsystem, adult soccer open play with Project 96, youth soccer drills and open play with Downtown United Soccer Club
  • 2:45PM: Match kickoff performance from Cobra Marching Band & Majorettes
  • 3PM: FIFA World Cup 26™ Final broadcast - Spain v. Argentina, powered by Rooftop Films
  • 5PM: Last call for bars
  • 5PM, 5:30PM, 6PM, 6:30PM, 7PM: Ferries off the Island

Helpful Info

  • This event takes place entirely outdoors, rain or shine. Please plan accordingly.
  • Chairs, blankets, and other picnic setups are highly encouraged! We will have limited seating areas and picnic tables available on a first come, first served basis.
  • You may bring your own food; food will also be available for purchase onsite.
  • No outside alcohol is permitted. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase onsite for consumption in designated areas.
  • Entry is free and open to all, no registration required. All you need is a ferry ticket—click here for schedules and tickets.
