Wandering Water: Tears, Teas, and Tides
Swale
Join Swale to for the reception of Wandering Water, and engage by drawing, listening, and shedding tears with water. There will be tea, an opportunity to experience their waste-composting system, and a space for attendees to have their feet washed.
Wandering Water brings together Lauren Bön, Betsy Damon, and Mary Mattingly, artists whose practices have long engaged water as material, system, and living relation. Bön intervenes in landscapes and infrastructure, redirecting water toward ecological and civic possibility. Damon reveals water as the foundation and creative agent of life, working to restore damaged water systems. Mattingly examines how human lives are entangled with water, materials, and extractive economies. Each works closely with communities, modeling water’s vast creative powers.
On view through October 25.
