CaribBEING House

I AM CaribBE­ING returns to Gov­er­nors Island for their fourth sea­son, bring­ing bold cre­ativ­i­ty, rhythms, and sto­ries of the Caribbean back to the har­bor. This year’s pro­gram, themed ​“genes(an)s” — merg­ing gen­e­sis (ori­gin) and nésans (Cre­ole for birth) — pro­vides a cre­ative space root­ed in Caribbean lifestyle, a cross­roads of the world. They invite artists and thinkers from diverse back­ground to envi­sion a pre­pare the birth of a flu­id world through artis­tic expres­sion, dia­logue, and the reimag­ing of shared origins.
