Constellation
Beam Center
Aug 30—Nov 7, 2021
CONSTELLATION was a series of six sculptures made of welded steel and silt-cast ceramic bells, creating a constellation of ringing bells across Governors Island. This sculpture series is designed by Ye Qin Zhu and built by young people at Beam Camp City, as part of their summer camp experience.
Campers at Beam Camp City share their creativity in ways big and small as each youth contributes to this shared experience. As visitors walk across the island they are invited to listen to the sounds of each sculpture and explore the human connection between the mysteries of the cosmos.
