Vice President, Design & Construction
The Vice President of Design & Construction will have primary responsibility for the planning, design, permitting, and construction of the Island’s capital projects and assets at a time of significant growth. These projects will focus on the revitalization of the Island’s 90-acre historic district, including the renovation of buildings within Nolan Park to serve as a multi-tenant arts and cultural campus; improvements to its world-class public space; and upgrades to an extensive network of Trust-owned utility and maritime infrastructure, with a focus on demonstrating leading approaches to urban development.
Director of Horticulture
The Director of Horticulture is responsible for all aspects of management and long-term care of Governors Island’s diverse gardens. The Director will shape open space management protocols and lead a professional horticulture team. Must have a hands-on leadership style, strategic vision, in-depth knowledge of native plants and ecological gardening, and an understanding of arboriculture.
Director, Real Estate & Planning
The Director, Real Estate & Planning, will lead public-private development projects and leasing of assets consistent with the Island’s mission, including ground leases for both historic adaptive reuse and ground-up development, space leases to smaller commercial and non-profit tenants, and concession agreements for public amenities.
Senior Project Manager, Design & Construction
The Senior Project Manager will oversee a range of capital projects through all stages of planning, design, and construction at a time of significant growth on Governors Island, ensuring that projects proceed in coordination with available funding sources, the Island’s operational needs, and short-term and long-term development plans.
Engineer
The Engineer will oversee the performance and maintenance of equipment and machinery on the Island.
